Montessori-inspired toys have gained immense popularity for their ability to engage and educate young minds. Montessori inspired toys are so easily accessible these days and the Montessori methods have become a major part of many parent’s approach to raising their children.
We are lucky enough to receive the Lovevery Play Kits every few months because Mila’s grandparents are kind enough to pay for the subscription. We have LOVED our Play Kits and they always wind up being the toys that get played with for the longest and that hold up overtime. They’re also very aesthetically pleasing so I don’t mind them being on full display in my living room (aka the Mila zone).
However, the reality is that investing in premium brands like Lovevery can sometimes be a strain your wallet. This should never be a reason we can’t give our children the toys and experiences we want them to have. Fear not! In this blog post, we will unveil a treasure trove of budget-friendly alternatives available on Amazon that capture the essence of Lovevery's Montessori toys, offering quality play experiences and developmental benefits for a fraction of the cost. In this post, we have curated a list within each of the 1 year old age groups that align with the Lovevery Play Kits and provided lower cost options.
The Babbler Play Kit (13-15 Months)
~$90 vs $120 - SAVE around $30
The Adventurer Play Kit (16-18 Months)
~$63 vs $120 - SAVE nearly $60
The Realist Play Kit (19-21 Months)
~$51 (2 toys missing) - SAVE nearly $70
This Play Kit was actually one of the less engaging Play Kits we received, at least as far as Mila’s interactions with it. It has also proven to be the hardest to find corresponding toys on Amazon.
Lockbox - $15
Count & Slide Chute - It was hard to find a replacement for this one, but I’ll be honest - I don’t think you’re missing much. This wasn’t a toy that Mila got very interested in and engaged with.
Geo Shapes Puzzle - $12 or Geo Shapes Puzzle - $12
Quilted Critter Pockets - I couldn’t find anything similar to this either. A Busy Book might be a better option.
Real Flashlight - $13
The Companion Play Kit (22-24 Months)
~$89 vs $120 - SAVE around $30
